Awarded ‘Discovery of the Year 2016’ for the Waldhof Head Chef, Tibor Sztepanek
The ‘Große Restaurant & Hotel Guide 2016’ described our innovative Head Chef, Tibor, as a ‘magician that impresses his guests with modern and cosmopolitan cuisine’, and declared him the ‘Discovery of the Year 2016’.
Head Chef at the Waldhof since April 2009, Tibor Szetepanek’s cooking career didn’t exactly follow the classic path. After a successful career as a professional footballer, Tibor discovered his passion for cooking and began his training in the Hotel Cristallo in Italy, before moving on to train as a pastry chef under Robert Oppeneder in Munich. Tibor earned his stripes under top German chef Christian Jürgens, and his numerous placements led him to Germany - with Dieter Müller - as well as Spain and the UK. After another placement at the Hotel La Perla in Corvara, Tibor spent three years as Head Chef at the 2-star restaurant Hubertus in St Kassian.
Tibor has been our Head Chef since April 2009, and his skills and ideas have made him a ‘real shining star of the gourmet world’, according to the ‘Große Restaurant & Hotel Guide’. He has cooked his way into the hearts of our impressed guests with every dish.
