The blooming gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle are situated on the sunniest slopes on the outskirts of Merano. An enthralling botanical garden awaits! Plants from all over the world are collected here, however typical South Tyrolean landscapes are featured. Numerous paths meander through the sloping water gardens and terrace gardens, leading to a garden for the senses or to the Japanese gardens, up to the cacti and succulent filled hillside, or to the cultivated plants of the south like olive trees and grape vines.

 | Ötzi Museum, Museum of Archeology The South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology in Bolzano displays the glacier mummy known as „Ötzi“ and he has brought a surge of visitors to the city. Tourists from all over the globe visit this museum - and it is really worth it. Not only is the Ice Man of interest, but his history and belongings are of special interest. The visitor is presented with the tools, clothing, and other objects found with the mummy, as well as other impressive exhibits portraying archaeological artefacts.
